Kick Off – The Great Pumpkin Search of 2013

Every year it seems that the pumpkin flavors pop up earlier and earlier.

This year’s first item for the Great Pumpkin Search was actually found in the middle of August. I discovered a wonderful Pumpkin Spice Tea at Barnes & Nobles.

First, it’s Tea, second it’s PUMPKIN Tea!!!

Obviously, I had to try a hot, venti immediately. I did have to wait the 5 minutes for the tea to brew, and then another couple minutes for the hot beverage to cool enough to sip, but it was well worth the wait!!

The Great Pumpkin has been spotted at Target. Last year brought us pumpkin pancakes and coffee, which Target still has in plenty.

This year I found Pumpkin Spice Syrup (for coffee or tea), Hershey’s Pumpkin Spice Kisses and Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Via.

Pumpkin Spice Syrup makes a perfect Pumpkin Spice Chai

• The Pumpkin Spice Coffee Syrup is extremely versatile and affordable.

I used the Pumpkin Spice Syrup in my chai, and I must say it tastes just like Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Chai! I just mixed a couple tablespoons of this syrup into my Tazo Chai mix and added the recommended amount of soy milk and viola! An awesome spiced chai right at home. I didn’t even have to change out of my PJs.

Plus the syrup is all natural and for a cost of under $3 a bottle, which so far has already made 3 drinks, I say it is well worth the investment. Read the rest of this entry »
