The Great Pumpkin Search for Coffee

We are continuing our 2015 Great Pumpkin Search with a coffee focus.

Last year Mars gave us Pumpkin Spice M&Ms, which were really good, and made my non-pumpkin loving sister fall in love with pumpkin spice things. This year we have another Target exclusive Pumpkin Spice Latte M&Ms.

I was a bit skeptical about these. I wasn’t sure how the coffee flavor would translate with chocolate, though I’m a huge mocha fan.

These are pleasant. The slight bitterness of the coffee blends with sweet pumpkin spice and candy coated choclate for a smooth yet spicy treat. It tastes just like the new Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks.

Great Pumpkin Search 2015 is Underway!

It’s September.

For  many this means looking forward to leaves changing. Cool, crisp weather. Large bonfires and roasted foods. Halloween decorations fill shelves (with Christmas ones right behind them).

For me… Well, I live in Florida.

While the weather does lose some of it’s heavy, damp, humidity, it won’t cool for awhile. Scarves and cute sweaters will have to wait.

Even if I can’t feel the change in the weather I can enjoy it in other ways.

Bring on the Pumpkin!

I’m starting this year’s Great Pumpkin Search with breakfast.

Pepperidge Farm Pumpkin Spice Swirl Bread

I’ve seen this bread on the shelf for a few years and finally decided to give it a whirl.

This bread is enjoyable as toast with butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon. The pumpkin and spices, while present, are subtle.

If you’re looking for a hearty loaf of pumpkin bread, skip this. It’s fun for what it is and can be used to make other treats (like french toast sticks after the jump). If you’re looking for more pumpkin flavor, you will need to add pumpkin butter.

November – Great Pumpkin Search 2014

It’s still fall. The weather is finally cooling down in Florida, and I’m gearing up for the big Thanksgiving feast. There’s still plenty of room for a delicious pumpkin treat.

Here are some more pumpkin things I’ve found.

Etenmann’s Pumpkin Donuts and Pumpkin Loaf Cake.

The pumpkin donuts are a bit too sweet and the pumpkin isn’t very strong. I think Dunkin Donut’s pumpkin donuts are better, and have more spice. Still, for a grocery bought donut, these are nice with some coffee. The pumpkin Loaf cake is much better. It’s sweet but still has a light spice and is very moist. This goes well with coffee or tea.

Speaking of tea, I ordered the Stocking Stuffer Set of teas from Adagio Teas. One of the main reasons I purchased this set was for the Pumpkin Spice Tea, however I was very pleased with all the other flavors as well (Chestnut and Read the rest of this entry »

October 2014 – Great Pumpkin Search

Here we are, officially!

Now that we have arrived in Autumn let’s celebrate with pumpkin everything!

Sadly, in the Sunshine state (which has been nothing but rain the last few days), it is still warm. No cool crisp air. No brightly colored leaves. No bonfires. At least, not yet. Soon, I hope, the weather will turn and cool off. Even a few degrees would be nice.

Since it’s still warm here, I wanted to start this post with some delicious Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice-Cream from Baskin Robins.

This ice-cream is heavenly. You can enjoy it in a cup, cone, or blended with other flavors into a milkshake. My husband had a Snickers, Pumpkin Cheesecake milkshake, while I delighted in two pure scoops of heaven. Read the rest of this entry »

Great Pumpkin Search 2014

Pumpkin spice and everything nice.

I can’t believe it’s already mid-August. Most kids are back and school and the weather, though stormy here in Florida, is starting to cool ever so slightly.

Thoughts of fall and all it brings have started to fill my mind. Friends are planning Halloween parties and costumes. Halloween stores are starting to sprout up, though their doors are thankfully still closed.

As always, this time of year, I find my cravings leaning towards the savory and sweet variety of pumpkin season. Imagine my delight when I wandered into Barnes and Noble with a friend and found this gem in the bakery display.
