Great Pumpkin Search 2016 Commence – Cereal Finds

It’s that time of year again, when everything starts to turn colors, and pumpkin spice starts appearing in everything from lattes to candy.

Which means it’s time for the Great Pumpkin Search!

The Pumpkin Spice Must Flow

The Pumpkin Spice Must Flow

I will dedicate the next few posts to pumpkin delights I find or make and share with you.

Starting the season off is Cereal themed pumpkin treats.

First we have:

Special K Pumpkin Spice Crunch

I’m not a big cereal person, but I found myself enjoying this one. The “wheat rice” flakes are seasoned with the spices found in pumpkin pie, but if you’re looking for actual pumpkin in this one, no dice. This is just about the seasoning. There are little “nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and cinnamon clusters”–which are the best part and far too few–that pack more spice and texture to the flakes. Overall, not a huge win on my pumpkin search, but a nice addition to breakfast, and if you’re into random life-hacks, you could always pour the leftover milk into your tea or coffee for a pumpkin spice latte.

Next we have another treat from Kellogg’s:

NutriGrain Pumpkin Spice Cereal Bars

These are amazing! You want pumpkin, these have pumpkin, real pumpkin. The center filling is a creamy pumpkin with a bit of pumpkin spice and a nice soft, cereal wrapping. These taste healthy, but in a delicious way. My husband and son both loved these.

Speaking of the kiddo. If you’re interested in something for the younger crowd, or just want mini snack bars for yourself, check out

Plum Organics Pumpkin Banana Mighty Snack Bars.

My son loves all of the mighty snack bars from Plum. I like that these are organic and delicious! I never would have considered pumpkin and banana together, but they are a winning combo in these little bars. The perfect mini size for toddlers and little ones. My son loves them. AND they are available year round. I’ve been nibbling on these during summer myself.

There you have it. Add your pumpkin latte to any of these and you’ve got yourself a great start to your day, even some the kiddos will enjoy.

Come back in another couple weeks for more pumpkin treats as the Great Pumpkin Search 2016 continues.
