Great Pumpkin Search 2014

Pumpkin spice and everything nice.

I can’t believe it’s already mid-August. Most kids are back and school and the weather, though stormy here in Florida, is starting to cool ever so slightly.

Thoughts of fall and all it brings have started to fill my mind. Friends are planning Halloween parties and costumes. Halloween stores are starting to sprout up, though their doors are thankfully still closed.

As always, this time of year, I find my cravings leaning towards the savory and sweet variety of pumpkin season. Imagine my delight when I wandered into Barnes and Noble with a friend and found this gem in the bakery display.

It was the last pumpkin cupcake they had and it was divine!

So close to a moist pumpkin muffin, but sweeter. Covered in pumpkin spice cream cheese frosting, with little pumpkin spice shavings. I paired it with a Soy Chai Latte and savored every bite.

Ah, the flavors of fall have descended upon us.

I am both surprised and happy about this find. Surprised because it isn’t technically fall and I find that the seasons seem to creep upon us faster and faster with each passing year. But I’m happy, since I adore anything pumpkin, especially things made with real pumpkin.

It bears mentioning that Barnes and Noble also carries the Harney and Sons Pumpkin Tea, a tea I featured on the blog last year here.

While the weather may still be muggy, and the storms are raging, I am happy to know that pumpkin season has arrived early. I’ll try not to devote the whole blog to the Great Pumpkin Search this year. I have a few things in the work, and some changes to the blog coming.

I’m looking forward to what the changing seasons bring.

Until Next Time
