The Great Pumpkin Search 2012 Continues

The Great Pumpkin has been spotted at Target. Last year brought us pumpkin pancakes and coffee, which Target still has in plenty.

This year I found Pumpkin Spice Syrup (for coffee or tea), Hershey’s Pumpkin Spice Kisses and Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Via.

Pumpkin Spice Syrup makes a perfect Pumpkin Spice Chai

• The Pumpkin Spice Coffee Syrup is extremely versatile and affordable.

I used the Pumpkin Spice Syrup in my chai, and I must say it tastes just like Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Chai! I just mixed a couple tablespoons of this syrup into my Tazo Chai mix and added the recommended amount of soy milk and viola! An awesome spiced chai right at home. I didn’t even have to change out of my PJs.

Plus the syrup is all natural and for a cost of under $3 a bottle, which so far has already made 3 drinks, I say it is well worth the investment.

Hershey’s Pumpkin Spice Kisses

• Hershey’s Pumpkin Spice Kisses are amazing!!

They are made with white chocolate and pumpkin spices and honestly taste like pumpkin pie. They are a very sweet and spicy delight.I can only eat one or two at a time =)

I have only seen these treats at Target. If you know of other stores that carry them, please share in the comments section =)

I am really happy about these since I found a recipe on Pinterest for Pumpkin Spice Thumbprint Cookies. I can’t wait to try it out and see how it goes!

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Via

• Lastly is Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Via. This is part of Starbucks’ instant coffee line. Pr-sweetened and ready for hot milk, the Pumpkin Spice Via is a convenient way to bring the taste of fall into your own kitchen.

This flavored Via was inspired by Starbucks’ ever popular seasonal drink the Pumpkin Spice Latte.

The directions suggest using hot milk to make your coffee, which gives it the latte feel.  I added my own whip cream and topped with a dusting of pumpkin spice from my spice rack.

This definitely tastes like coffee. I’m not a very big coffee drinker, though I do favor iced coffees, especially Starbucks Via Camel Iced Coffee. So, I’m probably not the best judge of coffee, however, I don’t mind the Pumpkin Spice Via.

It’s good with whatever milk you choose. I used soy. I am sure you could add creamer, though I did not. Also since the Via powder is mixed with cane sugar I didn’t feel the need to add any sweetener. It’s also naturally flavored and I can definitely taste an undertone of pumpkin.

Would I give up my in-store Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Soy Latte for the Via version? Probably not, but I think it’s a nice alternative to have around the house for those chilly Autumn nights.

That’s all the pumpkin goodness I have to report at this time. Come back soon for more Great Pumpkin Search finds!!

Until Next Time

  • The VIA and the kisses are SO delicious. Some of my favorite pumpkin treats. I keep trying to find the syrup at Target, but it’s always sold out! I’ll probably have to be more vigilant next pumpkin season

    • I had a hard time finding the syprup this season, but I managed to locate a bottle near their seasonal treat isle next to holiday candy and gift sets. It was a lucky find because there was only one bottle left, and I had ran out of last years supply. I love adding a little pumpkin spice to my coffee through out the year. =)
